In its commitment to support the dissemination of knowledge, the Kamel Lazaar Foundation has contributed to the publication of "Le Bardo, la Grande histoire de la Tunisie : Musée, sites et monuments " (Bardo, the Great History of Tunisia: Museums, Sites and Monuments). This work of reference on the history of Tunisia and its age-old heritage has just been published by Alif, Mediterranean Editions.
The book aims to trace the history of Tunisia throughout the ages, from Carthage to Kairouan, from Ifriqiya to Tunisia and to present a country that is not only rooted in the African continent but equally enriched with different cultures and the succession of a number of civilizations.
Particularly, the book turns to the vestiges and the archeological sites to show the traces of this Tunisia, at the crossroads between religions, languages and trades. It is a richly illustrated book that takes the reader on a historical journey and underscores the need to safeguard and preserve the country's exceptional heritage.
