On August 2nd and 3rd, 2014, The Kamel Lazaar Foundation supported an event to mark the celebration of the creation of Carthage 2828 years ago by the Tyrian princess Elyssa. The event also marked the anniversary of Hannibal Barca's victory during the battle against the Romans in Cannes. The event was an initiative of Club Didon and holds importance in Tunisian culture. It is a symbolic and public tribute to the country's pre-modern history. The program included a guided tour of historic sites, conferences, as well as a parade of Carthaginian warriors coupled with a medieval-style meal to commemorate the events.
