Artistes de Tunisie is a manifesto, a tribute to a generation of artists and creators who have often been forced to work in the margins of society, with scant recognition. It is a non-exhaustive compilation, the first beginning of a reference work destined to be developed further. It is an attempt to fill a gap in the literature on Tunisian artistic culture. Through this 'humanist' proposal, it is offered to all critics, curators, researchers and art professionals who are constantly questioning the state of the Tunisian artistic scene and its actors, but more importantly, its diversity. The work aspires to combine exclusions, to encourage inspirations far removed from narrowmindedness and conformity of representations, making room for the plurality, risk, anguish and fragility of expression. It strives to build an open interpretation of the world, to maintain a desire for difference, but above all to weave commonality and reveal the human creative genius. Our modern history only attests to the fact that the Tunisian revolution can be neither young, divine nor military, but... cultural.
