Project description :
Lotfi Ghariani designed the project "Family photos - تصويرة عائلية" by observing social networks during the period of confinement. As it was impossible for him to move around, Ghariani was faced with social isolation and reflections of the networks. The latter showed family recompositions and new proximities that were reborn between individuals. This situation led Ghariani to ask himself two questions, the answers to which will lead to the "Family Photos" project. Here are the two triggers that pushed the artist on this path:
- How do Tunisian families pass their confinement?
- How to create by being confined oneself, a photographic archive of the confinement?
To respond to these emergencies, Lotfi Ghariani has developed a project in three phases: The first phase consists of collecting photos of families taken by themselves during confinement. The second phase of the project will see the photographer going to these families to take photos himself. Finally, in a third phase, the photos collected or created will be collected in a photo album of Tunisian families in confinement.
