Presentation of the JINN collective :
JINN is an artistic collective based in Tunis which aims to promote the work and style of each of its members specialized in comics and its derivatives. In Tunisian dialect JINN means a person gifted in his field. All the visuals and creations are produced in Tunisia, each piece is original and reveals a story about its creation and its origins, offrant to its owner the possibility to carry a part of the history of its creator. As the main communication medium JINN opens up to the digital world with its website: www.jinn.tn.
Presentation of the project :
During the confinement, we came across a video of the Minister of Education offering a piece of soap to each student to fight Covid 19. Although affected, we considered this measure insufficient and wanted to help the children to have fun while informing them about the barrier gestures and the spread of the virus. Thus was born Sabouna, the story of two friends transformed into a bottle of hydroalcoholic gel who fight against the virus, that is, the bandit of the class transformed into a virulent monster, in order to protect the class.
For the Culture solidaire exhibition, the Jinn collective recontextualizes their comic strip with a lot of humor and a touch of irony reserved for adults! The staging of the space aims at zooming in on the illegal manufacture and sale of sterilization products such as hydroalcoholic gel, which seems to us to be identical to narcotics.
