The Kamel Lazaar Foundation (KLF) and The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, in partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Education and supported by the German Foreign office intend to implement the Future Laboratory project in Tunisia.
The Future Laboratory in Tunisia is an ambitious project that is inspired by the successfull and worldwide recognized inititative by The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen named “Zukunftslabor”.
The Future Laboratory employs an innovative approach to community engagement. Using music and cultural education, this programme connects local professional music ensembles with schools bringing about the personal, cognitive and social development of school children and strengthening the school community. The long-term objective of the Future Laboratory is to support the development of democracy by developing previsouly untapped human potential.

The Project Manager
To implement and manage the Future Laboratory project in Tunisia, we are looking for a Project Manager starting immediately through December 2019.
In close collaboration with the Project Managers in Bremen, the Project Manager will be in charge of the following tasks:
- Operating and accompanying the ongoing collaborative process of the two core partners mentioned above
- Accompanying and supporting the process of identifying the project core partners, such as the professional music ensemble
- Managing and leading the project team in Tunisia
- Managing co-ordination of the partners and working groups engaged in project work including the school staff and the professional music ensemble
- Managing the work of consultants
- Identifying opportunities to promote the project and contributing to fundraising efforts
- Detailed project planning and control including:
- Networking with the Tunisian project partners and developing the regional network of partners and stakeholders in general
- Developing/maintaining the relationship with the ministry of education and culture and other Tunisian authorities
- Being involved in the planning and overseeing the operation of fitting out a rehearsal space within the school (i.e. the project site)
- Being involved in the planning and operate substantial formats of musical education (inspired by formats successfully developed by Bremen)
- Accompaniment and development of such formats
- Managing exchange formats between the Zukunftslabor of The Deutschen Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and the Future Laboratory in Tunis
- Supporting and maintaining communication with the German project partners in Tunis
- Developing and maintaining a detailed project plan in cooperation with the German managers
- Managing project deliverables in line with the project plan
- Monitoring project progress and performance in cooperation with the German managers
- Providing status reports to core partners
- Managing project training within the defined budget
- Managing project evaluation and dissemination activities
Your profile
- A demonstrable track record of project management in a cultural organisation and an educational setting will be an advantage, as will experience of managing or promoting arts and culture education to a wide range of stakeholders, and fundraising to that effect
- A proven track record in Project Management, including financial management and reporting
- Sound knowledge of the cultural ecosystem in Tunisia
- Profound knowledge of cultural education
- Demonstrable experience in managing cultural education projects involving multiple local and international partners
- A proven track record in fundraising for cultural and/or educational projects in Tunisia
- Fluent in English or German
- Fluent in Arabic and French.
