On February 15th 2016, the paint shop of Baron Rodolphe d'Erlanger was opened to the public after 18 months of museum redevelopment and restoration. This workshop, located in Ennejma Ezzahra Palace, is an emblematic monument in the suburb of Sidi Bou Said. The paint shop received the support of Kamel Lazaar Foundation, as part of a sponsorship operation that allowed the restoration, particularly its furniture and paintings of Baron. On this occasion, an opening ceremony was organized, in the presence of Sonia Mbarek, the Minister of Culture; Kamel Lazaar, the Foundation's President, and a number of ambassadors and personalities from the cultural, artsistic and political scenes. This project was considered as not only a pilot project but also as a unique experiment in Tunisia, as it brought together for the first time a public institution and a local, private entity, in order to focus on a development project in the field of cultural heritage.
