USURES project :
This project, which began in 2018, was born out of a desire to explore a new medium for drawing: animation. I then succeeded in making animated sequences from hundreds of drawings. But due to a lack of time, this work was interrupted by a succession of other projects that at the time seemed more urgent to execute. In confinement and in this time of 'pause', I had the opportunity to return to this unfinished project hoping to get back on track and take advantage of the time offered by these circumstances, unfortunately very difficult that we are undergoing, to follow up on this project and plunge back into the magnificent world of animation, perhaps offering myself the luxury of completing a project that is close to my heart. In these difficult times, creation is considered, in the first instance, as a escape to a utopian world. Secondly, it is seen as a means of resisting uncertainty, boredom, anxiety, and a distressed economic situation that the entire population nationally and internationally is sharing . Finally and in a third step, Creating is a power that transforms an imposed situation into a given opportunity to reflect and move forward in order to bring about a better version of ourselves, to the world of tomorrow: the post-confinement world.

In a context that is more current than ever, the helpless and vulnerable human being facing a situation he cannot control is now transformed into an anxious subject on the move. Under the influence of frustration and fear, the subject is confronted with an invisible entity that takes hold of him emotionally and physically and wears him down. The body in its perpetual struggle becomes tired, weakens, degrades until it tends to disappear. Will it find a way to be reborn from its ashes? In a quest to represent through drawing this inner state, I thought of animation as a means of 'documenting' this invisible degradation over time and this inner struggle.
Safa Attyaoui biography :
Born in 1990, Safa Attyaoui lives and works in Tunis.
A multidisciplinary artist, she moves from drawing lines to sewing thread and from collage to video while creating a subtle link between her transitions. Attentive to material encounters, she explores textures and recovers objects that she then reintegrates into her work, creating a particular atmosphere where the history of the materials is linked to her personal history. Safa attyaoui thus draws from her experiences the object of her creations in order to question the relationships that link man to his environment. Her work has been shown in several collective exhibitions, among which "Utopia, 100 years of the Bauhaus" in Dar Lasrem, "... entrelacés" at the Safia Farhat Museum and "Utopies Visuelles 2" in Sousse. She has participated in artistic residencies in Tunis (Centre des Arts Vivants de Radès, Jiser Reflexions Mediterrànies) and in France (the workshop of the Saint-Roch museum) during which she had the opportunity to further explore drawing and embroidery as a narrative tool to reveal emotional sensitivity in personal life experiences. She has since developed an artistic research that revolves around memory, trace and identity construction. In March 2020 her first solo exhibition took place in the Chapel of Saint Monique at the IHEC in Carthage (suspended due to the measures against Covid-19).
